Please read the following before nominating any website
The intent of
the "Code 3 Award" is to recognize those law enforcement related
websites which, in our opinion, represent the best. Once a site
is nominated, it will be reviewed and, if it meets the standards
below, that site can display the "Code 3 Award." |

| QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: |
(1) |
Absolutely NO sites which contain pornography or other questionable content will EVER qualify! |
(2) |
This must be law enforcement or fire related. It can be an official home page to a police, fire, or emergency service department or a personal homepage. |
(3) |
Commercial sites will be considered, but this award in no way serves as an endorsement for any service or product that company may sell. These sites must be police or fire related. |
(4) |
Personal home pages must be public service related which does include: police or fire patch trading; police items, such as hats, Road Champs, or any other hobby related to the police or fire area. If the site is basically a site that is just "personal" without a police or fire theme, this will not qualify. |
(5) |
Sites
that promote racism, the overthrow of the government, ideologically,
or political views, etc., will not be considered.
|
(6) |
Basically,
it comes down to this: We are looking for a well put together site
that is fun to visit, informative, that offers more than, "Here's
who I am, my address, and pictures of my friends." We are looking
for the unusual, the professional, the humorous sites that leave
you with a feeling of, "Hey, that was good enough to bookmark!"
Interesting graphics and pictures help too. If your page is nothing
but text and links, chances are you won't make it unless it is done
in a way that shows a lot of work went into preparing and researching.
Also, sites that offer advice to officers or fire fighters, and
emergency personal in the area of stress management, "Cop Down"
stories which related how the officer survived and overcame the
incident will be considered as well. Anything that helps emergency
people to cope are well worth the time to visit. If the site is
interesting and shows imagination and obvious the designer put some
planning and work into it is a good nomination.

How to apply for the award
E-mail
us with the website address. Give us a sentence or two regarding
what the site is about, and if you designed the page or not. (It's
fine to nominate your own site!) If you are nominating someone else's
page, tell us what you think makes the site outstanding. Once we
receive the nomination, we will visit the site and review it. We
will get back to you and the site which was nominated. If the site
is awarded the "Code 3 Award," the award will be sent to that site
with the link code to display the award image. If you or that site
elects to display the award they have received, it is expected that
a link to Code 3 will be placed with the award. So if you think
you know a place which should be considered, or if you have a site
yourself and would like to nominate yourself, go ahead and submit
it! |
